another productive day! this project might actually find itself done by next monday. that's what i'm aiming for anyhow. downloaded a countdown clock and everything. 6 days, 6 hours, 5 minutes and 27...25...seconds!

as compulsive as such a timer sounds, it really keeps me on track. i look at it and think "holy crap! another 4 minutes went by! hurry maggie HURRY!" no, really. i like it. even if it does mean i'll have no fingernails for the next week or so.

went to see ward churchill speak the other night. friday, i guess it was. somehow...i'm just so sick of manly politics, left or right. i can't get behind something i'm left out of--regardless of whether or not i agree with what they say. there has to be a conscious inclusion of gender politics for me to feel comfy. without that, any group created will simply replicate the problems we're already dealin' with, albeit on a smaller scale. the recognition of privilege is hard to get across sometimes, though.

so the solution is...yea. get back to me after i write my thesis. i'll think about it all summer.
