discovered i have a paper due tomorrow. didn't know about it 'til, oh, 3 minutes ago. real nice surprise. just like stepping in dog shit. academic dog shit.

at least it's only a short policy paper. nothing terribly taxing. no way could i manage some in depth analysis of, well, anything tonight. i'm a little overwhelmed with work. thesis, 3 final papers...not to mention life in general.

started reading 'touched by fire,' a book about the creative impulse and manic depressive illness. i'm at page 23 and still interested, so it can't be all bad.
